Nipaquay Elementary

Objectives & Scope

  • Create adaptable learning spaces supporting UTK–5 active learning
  • Furnish specialized educational environments: reading rooms, makerspace, art room, library, and tech lab
  • Provide durable, student-centered furniture aligned to developmental needs
  • Deliver a full campus solution within a highly compressed schedule
  • Support the school’s vision for flexible, creative, and collaborative learning environments

Approach

Hyphn collaborated closely with Nipaquay Elementary to translate their vision of adaptable, research-based learning spaces into a cohesive furniture solution. Working primarily with Smith System and Steelcase Education, Hyphn curated a campus-wide package that blends mobility, durability, ergonomics, and multi-posture learning. To meet tight deadlines, Hyphn aligned design, sales, project management, and manufacturing partners to accelerate approvals, secure priority production, and ensure a seamless installation for the school’s inaugural year.

Outcomes & Impact

The new Nipaquay Elementary School features fully flexible, future-ready learning environments that enhance creativity, hands-on learning, and student choice. Hyphn’s integrated approach delivered adaptable, dynamic spaces that empower both teachers and students while supporting the school’s STEAM-focused mission.

“At Nipaquay we have an opportunity to draw from best practices around the world and to demonstrate that through a thoughtful integrated project-based approach to education, students can find both academic success and personal fulfillment.”
