Objectives & Scope
- Create a welcoming, non-institutional environment for individuals in crisis
- Balance warmth, dignity, and comfort with stringent behavioral health safety requirements
- Furnish diverse spaces including counseling rooms, residential suites, and shared community areas
- Support staff well-being and functionality in high-stress work environments
Approach
Hyphn partnered closely with Benton County and the project team to deliver furniture planning, design, and installation across the entire facility. The approach emphasized human-centered design—prioritizing calming aesthetics, natural materials, and approachable forms—while carefully addressing safety, durability, and risk mitigation unique to behavioral health settings. Each space was thoughtfully designed to support both clients in vulnerable moments and the professionals providing care.
Outcomes & Impact
The Benton County Crisis Center opened in July 2025 as a safe, dignified, and accessible resource providing 24/7 walk-in care, short-term stabilization, and residential respite. The completed environment supports immediate healing while serving as a statewide model for compassionate, community-based behavioral health care.
