San Diego Experience Center

Objectives & Scope

  • Create a smaller, more efficient workplace that supports connection
  • Showcase integrated design, furniture, and technology in real-world use
  • Increase employee engagement and in-office attendance
  • Improve usability and visibility of workplace technology
  • Design a space clients could easily relate to and learn from

Approach

Hyphn approached the project as both a workplace transformation and a living laboratory. Using data from the previous office and real feedback from the team, the space was reimagined to prioritize flexibility, shared experiences, and ease of use. Every area was designed to serve multiple purposes, maximizing square footage while giving people choice in how and where they work.

Technology was fully integrated and intentionally simple, ensuring meeting spaces were intuitive, active, and consistently in use. The design balanced openness with privacy, blending neighborhoods, focus rooms, and hospitality-driven spaces to support a wide range of work styles.

Outcomes & Impact

The new Experience Center quickly became a vibrant, energized hub for both employees and clients. Team engagement and in-office attendance increased, collaboration improved across departments, and technology now actively supports how people work rather than slowing them down.

For clients, the space serves as a powerful storytelling tool—helping them visualize their own future workplace and accelerating decision-making through real, lived examples.
